made a dinosaur hooded overall in preparation for the dress up party. kids are tough client. very fickle. likely to shamelessly bow to peer pressure (fairy princesses). the ladybug starting point remains now only in my imagination.

the kangaroo pouch

Elizabeth Zimmerman wizardry, a jumper called the kangaroo pouch. Knit on circular needles without seams. Sleeves are set in and turned  like a sock heel. Magic. Less magic is knitting a sleeve on circular needles. Knitting looking like an octopus now with three circular needles in use. Happy knitting , just not so transportable.

Joy is keeping busy with cutting and sticking.

Super undies

I've been looking at t-shirts in a new light. Would these be better as super undies? Soft cotton, especially with funny pictures - the answer can only be yes! Two made so far and there is no reason to stop yet. Sewing knit fabrics, even, yes I am. Although the knit fear plus a 3 year old 'helping' slowed things down. Need to use the stretch of the fabric better as my first attempts are a little on the super sized side.

sewing machine is fixed

The tunic has been cut out since April... my story is that the sewing machine has been broken...I used some lolly fabric for the bodice lining. Fancy lining is making me so very happy even though you hardly ever see it.
The little strip quilt is for a baby of a friend, also 6 weeks or so late-ish. she requested a red theme.

parrot hat

The parrot hat is complete, and now cryptic instructions like 4htr into 4 ch sp do not scare me. The flower used almost as much wool as the hat itself. It's lovely and warm with extra heat on one ear...

Missoni and a bowl of wool

This  crochet piece has taken almost a year. There was a long break over summer when it was just too hot to have  a kilo of wool on my lap. Crochet comes into its own in winter and I seemed to have picked up speed. This is a basic ripple pattern, however I have not been counting reliably to 10, it's not too noticeable. I had Missoni in mind when I started and a whole bowl of left over middle weight wool. There are three bands of colour: red, blue and green separated by white and black. Almost ready to finish - now that it's almost my height and wide enough to be wrapped in. I love the way it gathers and folds. Magic

Quilt in progress

Been looking at quilts for a reason; need to make one just quickly for a birthday present. Holiday colours: sand, sea, red flowers, oh and chickens of course. Mix of used and new fabrics.
